(25) I przełożył Absalom Amazę, miasto Joaba, nad wojskiem.
Amasa
2 Samuel 17:25; 19:13; 20:4-12; 1 Kings 2:5,32
Jether
Jether, [Yether (rty)] is essentially the same with [Yithra' ()rty)] Ithra, the latter only having the addition of an ['Aleph] aleph; and it is probable, that he was an Ishmaelite by birth but an Israelite by religion.
2 Samuel 17:25

Poole's English Annotations on the Holy Bible
The Ishmeelite, by birth or habitation, but by profession an Israelite, 2 Samuel 17:25, See Poole "2 Samuel 17:25".

Haydock's Catholic Bible Commentary
Ismahelite, or more correctly, "Jethra, of Jezrahel;" (2 Kings xvii. 25.) though the Hebrew and Septuagint in that place read "Israelite," which would be a trifling remark; and it is improbable that Isai would give his daughter to a descendant of Ismahel. (Calmet) --- The person might, however, have resided among them. (Du Hamel)
